I have just got old of JRun and I'm trying to get it set up. I first
tried it using its own web server, but I discovered that I couldn't load any
pages with it. I set it up and it will quite happily display a directory
listing of the place I point it to, but if I click on one of the files, it
returns a 404 file not found error. Plus, if I put a index.html (the default
document) it redirects the browser to that, but when the browser trys to
access that it gets redirected to the page its trying to look at. Any ideas?
Anyway I have now installed PWS and have set JRun as a script for
it. I've got it compiling and executing JSP 1.0 pages fine apart from one
minor detail. If I set the page to be not in a session (in the page header),
I cannot instantiate any beans since the page fails to compile and tells me
that it could not find the session object. If I make the page in a session,
it works. I can't off the top of my head think of a real case when I would
need a page to be out of a session, but this does indicate a problem, either
with my setup or with JRun itself.
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong here?
Please excuse me if this has been answered before.
Dave
