Hello, I think you might want to look at the RowSet interface as defined by JDBC 2.0 standard extension. There is an early access release of CachedRowSet (which is specially suitable for web apps) from Sun. We have our own implementation, which is "disconnected" as well and can be used with our pooled DataSource implementation.
