I also use Websphere on the AS/400.  Most of us have found it difficult to
get things up and going initially.  However, we DO NOT have to restart the
server everytime we make a change to our servlets.

I have experience with a host of application servers including Tengah, JRun,
Netscape's early offering and others and Websphere is as stable and provides
the same services, if not better, than the others.  If you're having to
restart your application server every time you deploy a servlet either
you're running an old version or you've got a configuration problem.
Websphere runs the EJB/Servlet/JSP services as well as any app server today.
