Some hosts will cut deals with you if the end result might generate more
business - i.e. you become a reseller. Nothing wrong with trying to
approach a web host with your idea, accepted limitations on bandwidth usage,
to avoid abuse, and preference that you bring your clients to them. Any web
host that is so inflexible in its pricing scheme to handle individual deals
should be considered with caution anyway.
Certainly, this is of significance when servlet/JSP features are typically
charged at a premium to basic packages.
Of course you can't blame a web host of wanting to weed our the serious
businesses from the pretenders.
