Hi, i am also new to JSP but i already figured out how to run a jsp file
locally.
1) download the JavaServer(tm) Web Development Kit 1.0 EA and install it.
2) run startserver.bat from C:\jswdk-1.0-ea (i'm using NT)
and you should see something like this:
JavaServer(tm) Web Dev Kit Version 1.0 EA
Loaded configuration from file:C:\jswdk-1.0-ea\default.cfg
endpoint created: :8080
3) now you know which port the server is on so open your browser and type
http://localhost:8080 to display the standard page of the server.
hope this helps,
-Alexander.
