The Public Release 2 of the JSP 1.1 specification is available from the
download page at Sun's JSP web page: http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/.

There have been a few changes in the spec since PR1 based on extensive
feedback and implementation efforts. Probably the most important change
is in simplifications of the concept of a Tag Handler: a Tag Handler is
now an invisible (no GUI) server-side JavaBean component that implements
either the Tag or the BodyTag interface to provide good integration
within a JSP page. Both Tag and BodyTag are relatively small
interfaces.

The specification comes with some simple teaching examples.

The Tomcat@Jakarta implementation (http://jakarta.apache.org) will catch
up with PR2 in the very near future.

The final JSP 1.1 specification will be very close to PR2; only very
important bugs and clarifications will be corrected. As with all
JCP-process, the specification will not be "final" until when a "final"
reference implementation is released. We expect that to happen around
the end of this calendar year.

There is also a PR2 specification of EJB 1.1 and, very soon, a PR2
specification of the J2EE 1.2 platform.

You can find all the J2EE 1.2 related specifications from the J2EE
page at http://java.sun.com/j2ee/
