RMI in a JSP

Quick question... I have a bean in a JSP that calls a remote object using RMI... I keep getting this error: java.rmi.UnmarshalException: Error unmarshaling return; nested exception is: java.io.WriteAbortedException: Writing aborted by exception; java.io.NotSerializableException:   can anyone shed some light on the subject?
