hi,

I have tested it cross platform, i am sure it is not a browser bug

the problem does not arise in the JS nor in the JSP

it might probably be a Servlet Bug, as I had done it a long time back,

I have not tried it lately as I stopped my dependance on JavaScript to work
in the first place,

call me old fashioned, but when it comes to functionality i nolonger depend
on javascript(as not all browsers support it), I prefer the server side
resonce, be it CGI or a java Cookie.

I have had bad experiances with it,

like once when my client took out a laptop of resolution 340 X 480, an old
browser and said it is not working, I had a bad time explaining my Customer
then my "PM", my html layout was gone, a couple of functionalities missing.

I use JS to only enhance the outlook, i never use it now for
functionality(even if it improves the speed N times), but that is back,
when we used to use NS as main browser and IE had just introuced 4.0.

Just sharing my past hiccups,

but if you are willing to take the risk, go ahead.

Amit
