I have been using mysql and found it ot be very stable on my Linux box...

Wrt Linux..there are two AFAIK...I have been using the blackdown port and it
seems to be working fine...I tried the IBM one for Linux with not so great
results...again this is my own opinion..so pls no flames :)

Nothing is a bottleneck...Linux is cool, so is blackdown..and so is apache
:) It is a matter of tweaking each of teh components for best performance :)
