There is nothing you can do about this in JSP. This is strictly an HTML
issue. The list box does automatically size to fit the first option. If your
first option doesn't provide a good default width, what we normally do is
put a placeholder for the real first entry that does produce the desired
width and then in your BODY tag specified "onload" JavaScript function you
replace the fake entry with your real first entry. I'd be interested in any
better solutions myself.
