Hi,
Java has really boosted the interest in pattern modeling
techniques. I used to read the GOF book but I found that there are more
interesting distributed modeling patterns on the net. When I worked with RMI
I used to gather some patterns from the user subscription list.
Now there are the web architecture patterns. There was an article
in 'Java Report' about the architecture pattern that the EJB design team
used. That was when I found that there are architectural patterns.
Can anybody comment on the differences between basic design patterns
and architecture patterns ? Is there really a difference ?
The GOF book doesn't have many patterns that can be adopted for
distributed design. The first book of the Wiley series on java patterns was
interesting but the second one was not.
bye,
Mohan
