Not only this tag you can also use

Java script code
        window.open("http://macname:portno/servlet/ServletName");

This also works fine,but sice this being Javascript code, use this
outside JSP tags.

Subject: Calling servlet from JSP

Can anyone explain me how to call a servlet from a JSP page.
The princip is:

     JSP page                                        Servlet
 ======================================

<%
        jsp code ...
%>
Call the servlet  ---------------------------------->
                                                            Servlet
acces to
a DB and then
                                                            sends some
HTML
tags the the jsp
                                                            page that
will
be inserted in the final HTML page
                      <----------------------------------
<%
        end of the jsp code ...

Stephan.
