This should go in the Java halls of infamy as one of the most annoying and
persistent problems ever.  The Sun JDBC-ODBC bridge is not threadsafe.  Read
the FAQ at the Javasoft JDBC site, or search the Knowledge Base at Allaire.
It would be nice if Sun documented this in the JDK stuff somewhere.
