You can retrieve and process the "USER_AGENT" header value from the incoming
request

For example:
   The JSP line:       <%= request.getHeader ("USER_AGENT") %>
   prints:             Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows NT)

Parse the results instead of print them & you will know not only the
browser, but also the version.
