Personally, I
subscribe in DIGEST mode and go through a day of postings at a time...
Well, I tried subscribing in DIGEST mode also, but didn't work. I set my
list options as DIGEST- NO MAIL (I went to www.jsp-interest.com to do this)
and wait for a week, nothing happened, except that I received a mail from
the list saying that my options now were... well, what I wanted then to be,
so it seemed to be working. Then I went back and change to DIGEST-MAIL, now
I receive the DIGEST and the mail. What went wrong the first time?
Thanks in advance.

Filip, Jesse: some level of beginner questions is unavoidable in any
relatively large list, and jsp-interest is pretty large. Personally, I
subscribe in DIGEST mode and go through a day of postings at a time. I
find that pretty workable. Other people go directly to the archives at
archives.java.sun.com and browse there.
As mailing lists go, I think that jsp-interest has pretty good
signal/noise ratio. It can be improved, I'm sure. A couple of specific
ideas:
* Place pointers to vendor-specific mailing lists so people can go
there. I'll do it if people send me these mailing lists.
* Improve our FAQ. This one is hard; good FAQs take time and we are
pretty resource-bound. There are some other FAQs out there, though.
If somebody has other suggestions, send them to me (not to the mailing
list :-]).
thanks,
