You can do a cached CGI, which doesn't need to reload and that
is the main speed problem. The PERL folks have shown that a cached set can
compete with C-code.
Why would CGI be anymore vulnerable than .asp pages? You
can get to see the source for either one just as easily if the server is not
setup correctly, or in the case of asp if the Microsoft patches aren't available
to you, on your hw/ national OS resource.
