perhaps a way around problems such as these would be to add a few more
details in your original query. the way it is worded now, it is very vague,
and no one can help you without writing a ten page reply.
a short detailed description of what you have tried, and specifically where
you are encountering problems, will signal the list that they are not doing
your grunt work for you, and it will also enable them to provide succinct,
targeted answers.
i'm a newbie myself, and would never cop an elitist attitude. even after i
do get better at it, such an attitude would be counter-productive. anyone
who cares about the java platform wants to attract more people to it, and
they want to help us newbies for the good of the platform.
but we must show that we are making every effort on our part to learn and
answer our own questions. i am sure that you have done so, but your query
to the list must make that clear as well..
