Hi,

Concerning Resins ability to reload classes and all...

>From what I was told by a few, Resin is the only servlet engine that can
reload classes if they change? I am not quite clear on your reply in the
jsp-interest group. I downloaded it and saw the WEB-INF/src and set up my
source files there, including non-servlet classes, such as core classes.
>From what I read on the site, it was my understanding that Resin will check
each and every source file, and if they have changed from the .class
time/date/size in the WEB-INF/classes then Resin unloads the current class
from the JVM, recompiles the .java file, then reloads that class?

If so, and it does work with all .java source in the /src folder, how does
this effect users currently on the site when a class he/she may be using
during a request is unloaded and reloaded? Or is that not what Resin does?

I am trying to talk my boss into using Resin, so I would like to make sure
when I tell them it can do this (thus emergency fixes are easy to upload to
the production site..they take effect immediately with no loss in sessions,
transactions, etc) it can really do this.

thanks.
