What you are asking for sounds more like a "server-push" and that's a whole
other can of worms.
Push-technology seems to have generally dropped from view for a slew of
reasons.
I would suggest that you construct a client component that is *synchronized*
with the parameters of the session and embed it in every page.
For a window.setTimeout in Javascript where the timeout is based on
getMaxInactiveInterval and the function to call upon timeout performs the
redirection. You can enhance this little script visually with a countdown
timer or a "battery-charge" metaphor that drops and changes color as the
client-side time elapses etc.
You could do the same thing as an applet if JS is not your cup of tea.
Now the fact is there is no real causal relationship between server session
expiry and client timeout - you are just independently using the same time
triggers/intervals for both processes.
