I guess what you need is a sample code for database connection.
Here it is, taken from one of my JSP pages:

        String url = "jdbc:odbc:ShopMart";
        String query = "SELECT CustEmailID, CustPassword FROM Cust where
CustEmailID='" + sLogin + "' and CustPassword='" + sPassword + "'";
        try
        {
                Class.forName ("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");

                java.sql.Connection con =
java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection (url, "admin", "");
                java.sql.Statement stmt = con.createStatement ();
                java.sql.ResultSet rs   = stmt.executeQuery (query);

                rs.next();
                sLogin=rs.getString("CustEmailID");

                rs.close();
                stmt.close();
                con.close();
        }
        catch(Exception ex)
        {
                if(ex.getMessage().compareTo("[Microsoft][ODBC Driver
Manager] Invalid cursor state")==0)
                        errMsg=" Incorrect Login";
                else
                        errMsg="Unexpected SQL exception(1): " +
ex.getMessage() + ". Contact System Administrator.";
        }

I am not very experienced in JSP (I began to programm an own prototype 2
days before) but what I did, was calling a Bean
(<%jsp:use Bean...%>), which is responsible of saving the data into the
database (using JDBC).

Hopefully can this help you :-)
