This is the correct behavior for <jsp:forward>
it's the server side request that's handed over to the new location and the
client doesn't (shouldn't) see this. (it's a feature ;-)
What you want to do isn't a forward but a redirect.
try
<%response.sendRedirect("../folder2/page2.jsp")%>
instead.
