One reason where I find <jsp:useBean .............> mechanism useful over any
other equivalent technique is use of getProperty and setProperty , using these
functions and a bean id input fields can be mapped to database fields.
If you are using the * attribute for setProperty then all the fields are mapped
on to your table at once , I don't know whether the same can be achieved as
easily with some other syntax

Subject:  2 questions..

> Hi pals,

I have 2 basic questions w.r.t jsp.

1)What is the use of doing

 <jsp:useBean .............>

can't i directly create an instance of the class (i mean bean) in the scriptlet
and use it ?

is ther any advantage  ?

2)can anyone tell me the difference btw

      1) request
      2)session
      3)application

  scopes ? when to use each one explicitly ?

Rakesh.
