Hi I want to distribute a Java VM with my web application. This VM must of course have the compiler included for the JSP pages. The problem: A: Microsoft Systems: According to the license agreements you may only distribute the Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) runtime engine with your apps for free. This Standard edition does not include a compiler though. The compiler is only included in the JDK and J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition). And neither of these can be distributed for free. How do you then distribute a VM with JSP applications? B: Linux: This does not look like a problem on Linux if you use the JDK from Blackdown.org. What about the IBM and SUN JDK's for Linux. Can you distribute that for free? -- AJ van Staden Cyber Seal Business and Industrial Information systems Pta Office Tel: +27 12 998 5674, Pta Office Fax: +27 12 998 0249, Cell: +27 82 927 5513 =========================================================================== To unsubscribe: mailto [EMAIL PROTECTED] with body: "signoff JSP-INTEREST".
