To you, and everybody else who gets involved with this type of process;

Because of structural differences in many schemes between ASP/ASP+ and
JSP/Servlets, it is impossible to create an efficient tool (or to procure
one) in the current market! Although it would be a great product, nobody
out there really knows ASP and JSP well enough to create some sort of
conversion tool. Also, if such a tool were developed, it would be quite
inefficient when it comes down to it.
Let's put it this way: If it took the market 4 years to develop a
quasi-sufficient ASP dev tool (which still does not really exist today),
and there is still no
remotely-close-to-sufficient-in-the-enterprise-environment JSP dev tool
(which may take another 3-6 months, and then upgrades for updates to the
standards), it is safe to assume that an ASP-to-JSP conversion tool would
most likely than not be inefficient if procured within the next 4-8 months
- ideally, we'd all love to create this, but the costs are serious.

In the end, the best way is the right way: Learn BOTH, PROPERLY, and
convert the source sections at a time. This takes time, but take the time
now to do this, and in the end there will be less debugging necessary
because you will CONSCIOUSLY know what changes were made (and such were
documented). If you rush with automation, the QA specialist (assuming
your production environment is organized enough to have a QA process),
would get a heart attack.
