JavaScript runs on client side, JSP runs on server side, i'm not new in JSP

In Javascript it is quite simple to createa confirmation popup and get and
yes/no answer returned from it.
Is there something similar in JSP. I could use a call to javascript but
doing it in the JSP would be so much cleaner and easier to manage. ANy help
