About the problem with session.setAttribute..it WAS a problem of an older
servlet API.. i downloaded Tomcat and now its working perfectly.....

Daryani Santosh : I've got Tomcat and JDK 1.1.8 installed and working..i
tried to set up Apache..but it just wasn't happeneing........I'll do the
JSP's in notepad..not much into IDE's...
Shawn Zhu : Matey, I ain't critisizing my Teammates..it's just that they do
not have any knowledge of Java or JSP....And if i do this project it will be
good for them as well as me....i just don't have the time to sit and teach
them java..i would try but unfortunately they're not even interested......
