Subject: Servlets / Tomcat / JSP / How to setup web.xml and server.xml
tags

The best intros are at (IMO, I think it's humble, most don't -- their
problem...):
    http://www.oop-research.com
    http://www.apl.jhu.edu/~hall/java

The oop-research site also has good howtos for setting up Tomcat. I
don't deal with virtuals but I'm pretty sure I've seen them addressed.

The servlet container should know where to find the classes under the
web-inf directory. You will need to point your classpath at each .jar
file required by your application.

Hope this helps. I'm sure all of these questions can be answered
definitively by the resources at either of those URLs. Check
http://java.sun.com for links to tons of sites with servlet/JSP info.
