Hi folks,
I have admiration for Mr. Joseph Ottinger. Every time
I read an OT/ultra-dummy question, I simply inveigh
(what a difficult english word), I wish to flame 'em
all but I never do it -- just because I don't want to
*loose* my time... the questions are so stupid that
any answer would not take them much forward. But J.
Ottinger is better than me: he replies!

Then, I think there would be much to discuss about the
term "simple question" too. There are
- ultra-dummy questions that any search with a search
engine (or simply type www.my-very-desired-answer.com)
would answer and
- on-topic simple questions.

The former should be flamed, the latter should be
answered.
I always asked myself: how is it possible that a
person, who is able to _join_ a mailing and _post_ a
question, is not able to use a search engine? I have
learned to use search engines much before being able
to interact with a mailing list... what about them?

I read 6 mailing lists -- no other of them has a so
basic-dummy-childish level as this JSP-interest.
There was a thread about OT questions on the
EJB-INTEREST mailing list some day ago -- I laughed
about it, the so-called "OT" questions _there_ would
be "mega-interesting-on-topic" questions compared to
the level of the posts _here_.

  Happy flaming to all...
  Andrea V.
