No, it's not supported by Tomcat 4.0.
The existence of a "global.jsa" file is a *feature* of a couple of servlet
containers, but it is not part of the servlet specification. Therefore, you can
not assume that applications relying on this functionality are portable.
However, Tomcat 4.0 does support the new "application event listeners"
functionality defined in the Servlet 2.3 (Proposed Final Draft) spec, which can be
used for many purposes that are similar to what you would want global.jsa for.
Becuase this feature *is* part of the standard, you can count on it being available
when other containers implement the new 2.3 features.
