Java has two component models: JavaBeans and Enterprise JavaBeans. Besides
the fact that, firstly, they are component models and, secondly, that they
have the text "JavaBeans" in their title, the two have no more in common
than any arbitrary sets of Java classes.
JavaBeans is an intraprocess component model. The model is geared for the
instantiation and usage of instances of componments within a single JVM
process. The components can be gui or non-gui.
Enterprise JavaBeans is an interprocess componement model. The model
supports instantiation and usage of instances of components across JVM
processes. The components are strictly non-gui. One of the great things
about the EJB model is that much of the interprocess communication hassle is
handled by the model.
