Everything is right :-).
<jsp:setProperty name="test" property="age" param="p_age"/>
It means that your bean has a method "setAge(String p_age)". Attribute must
be a String type and you would use the next code:

   public void setAge(String p_age)
  {
        try {
            age = Integer.parseInt(p_age);
        }catch (Exception e){      }
  }
