Did you set the CLASSPATH of your installation of JDK ?
If not,
Go to your installation directory of JDK and
On a UNIX machine with a Bourne-type shell (which typically gives a $
prompt), type:
CLASSPATH=.:$CLASSPATH;export CLASSPATH
On a UNIX machine with a C-type shell (which typically gives a % or >
prompt), type
this command:
setenv CLASSPATH .:$CLASSPATH
I don't know if if will solve your problem but it seems to be a matter of
JDK.
Good luck and give some news even if it not work

I tried following a tutorial on devshed on getting
JSP/apache/tomcat/jserv all working together on linux but the newer
versions of jakarta said that jserv was obsolete. So I've been trying
to follow the instructions in tomcat, but files don't exist where
they're supposed to here either.
I can't ./build.sh the jakarta-tomcat src because it's complaining about
a class path error (everything is /usr/local/tomcat/jakarta-* ). I
can't find the class on my machine that it's looking for :
(root@hugin)-(06:37pm Tue Apr 10)-(jakarta-tomcat)
# ./build.sh
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/tools/ant/Main
if anyone has experience getting the most current tools working on linux
for JSP please give me some pointers or a good manual to read. Thanks.
