Hi friend,
If the bean is already instantiated the introspection does not work. That is
the reson for unexpected results, when the scope is made to session.
If the bean is kept in session... The bean will be existing already in the
session (i.e., it is already intstantiated).
The introspection will not be done and only the existing property values are
taken. In that property values are not updated. That is why it is showing
same errors again and again. But once u restart the server, in the first
attempt of calling the page expected results come (since it is instantiating
the bean for the first time). And if u call the page again and the same
errors will be shown, even if the different values are entered in the entry
screen.
Regards,
Jagadeesh

Subject: Form Processing
I've got a question about the "memento" pattern shown in the article:
http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-03-2000/jw-0331-ssj-forms_p.html
Why is it that the 'retry' form page works properly when using 'request'
scope, but does not work when using 'session' scope? If you place the bean
in
session scope, then you can not retrieve messages from the bean's Hashtable
property.
This is just weird, and I don't understand why it happens other than
differences
in scope.
Thanks,
Brian
