Thanks for the prompt response, however I already had the answer which came
from another mailing list. I forgot to add the complete header of HTML
(<html><head><title> ... blabla> and one important thing is I had to add the
meta tag describes the character encoding.

The code looks fine, and I'm not aware of anything in IE that would change
the value of the TD like that?? I copied it and tested it and it worked
