I think that you can execute a query on view user_objects like

        select 'x'
        from user_objects
        where object_name = 'myobject'

Subject: Re: Excel and Servlets

Hi,
I am creating a connection to an Oracle database from a JSP. The problem
is I need to create a stored procedure, which I can do very easily, but
after the procedure has been created the first time, how do I check
whether it is there in the database when I run the JSP again?
Thanks,
Arnab
