Your concerns may be justified from that point of view, but I don't think
its necessary to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I generally use a
combination of client side and server side validation.

Being new to this list I have to say I hope the majority of traffic here
isn't conducted with this amount of attitude.
I thought the point was to help and be helped.
