I'm using a free jdbc driver (thin deriver) based on TDS protocol.

Maybe it is not util for you, but it is very interesting as a valid
alternative to JDBC-ODBC Bridge.

I'm using it with MSSQLServer7.0 and it works fine.

Visit http://www.freetds.org, there is also a good mailing-list support.
