What exactly are you trying to do? If your trying to have Java call C, then
look up the use of JNI (Java Native Interface), where by you can call native
apis from Java and have them call into Java. Go to www.google.com, do a
search for Java JNI and what not, and you'll get plenty of links. Sun has
info on their site as well.
On the other hand, you may want to look into using Web Services or
something, that is pretty much language and platform neutral. This would
allow you to write service in say, c++ for a specific platform (if there is
an API available to do so) and call them from your Java apps, or write web
services in java and have your other application written in another language
call them. J2EE is by far the best platform for Web Services. .NET is
probably next, and I don't know of any others.
