to use mysql driver u need to have the jar conatining mysql driver..

following line of code can do..

Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");

//then ur jdbc url part assuming a database named J2EE with username 'user' password 
'pwd'and database server on machine 'sachin'

jdbc:mysql://sachin:3306/J2EE
