I am using "multipartrequest" class from Jason Hunter
(http://www.servlets.com/cos/index.html) for
fileupload. The files are binary and pretty big in
size. The application is based on JSPs/Servlets and
Beans. Tomcat 4.0 is being used as the application
server and is running on UNIX platform. All the
machines are on a fiber optic Ethernet LAN.

Now I uploaded a binary file of size: 21,244 KB from
different browsers using the same app.
The results in terms of time for the upload were:

Browser Client OS Time
------- ----------------- ----------
NN 4.75 Windows 2000 Prof 1min 40sec

NN 4.75 UNIX (Sun Solaris) 1min 20sec

IE 5.5 Windows 2000 Prof 5min+ !!?

Can anybody please explain why IE5.5 client takes so
much time. I w'd highly appreciate any suggestions

Rgds,
