Dear All
As a new jsp programmer I want somewhere to try out some applications.
I have used www.mycgiserver.com which is free to use, runs servlets,
javabeans and jsp. It has helpful examples too, and a front page with all
the FTP details etc. that a new subscriber needs. It also supports
emailing. It supports two databases, but I've never heard of them before.
I'm now looking for an ISP which will support java AND MySQL. They all
seem much more expensive than the host I use for ASP & Access
(fasthosts.co.uk at UKP60 p.a.)
By looking at three (www.reinventinc.com in the USA, www.2020media.com in
UK, www.indigohosting.net also in UK) I've found that the outlay for the
first year seems to run from UKP200 to UKP400
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a modestly priced ISP. Ideally
there would be stacks of example "how to" tips posted.
Thanks
James
