I don't have a ton of experience outside of mySQL, however, the database
specific drivers should have documentation explaining how you can take
advantage of the specific database you are using. Check with the
database vendor for driver information and then read all the driver
doc's for more detail.

Hope that helps, perhaps Oracle users can add some info???
