One way is to have a poller function in the client, which polls the server at a certain interval. On the server to can listen for this poller and if it doens't come within a specified interval, invalidate the session.

I want to close the user session if due to some reasons the browser machine crashes or some network failures happen. How can I capture these events and invalidate the session?
