Nancy, Does the user enter the userid and password in the valida.jsp? If so, then it is safe to use javascript to pass the information to another jsp page. Both what Gar and I suggest would work. The ony other thing is how much you want to shield jsp pages from functions in other jsp pages. This is where a message system would come in to play. The other thing to consider is how this information is sent to the server. In order to be safe here, you need to use SSL. Otherwise, network monitors can easily pick out the data.
