One common way to handle this is to process the lengthy request in a
separate thread. Create a page that contains a graphic saying something to
the effect "One Moment Please..." and set the Meta Refresh tag to 1 minute.
When the request comes back in, check to see whether the thread has
completed. If it has, send back the results, if it hasn't send another "One
Moment Please..."/Meta Refresh page.
Of course 10-minutes is a very long time to wait, and unless it's specified
that the request could take that long, most people will give up long before
then.
