No, you're not wrong.

Yes, there are some of those, but there are also quite a few that will also
take you to the "meat" of a site immediately if you've already taken the
time to register.

I'm just trying to save as much time and effort for the end user as
possible.  Why make them click on a link if they don't have to?  :-)

The DevShed Forums (http://forums.devshed.com/) is a perfect example of what
I'm trying to accomplish.
