Hi First check if your ename is ename or EName ...some times this might be a
problem...

Then before assigning into the variable...just do like
if (request.getParameter("ename")!=null &&
!request.getParameter("ename").equals(""))
              String name=request.getParameter("ename");
just be sure that your ename has got value....once again..just for cross
checking..
