The standard way to access files on Tomcat is
http://localhost:8080/beg-jsp-ch01/index.jsp (or in other words
http://localhost:8080/yourProjectFolder/index.jsp). You do not need to specify the
webapps directory but you might also have issues with configuring you Apache and
Tomcat together. Have you tried to access the default Tomcat pages at
http://localhost:8080/index.jsp.

Hi,

I'm trying to learn JSP. I have Windows 2000 Professional & I have
installed the following:

Apache Server
JSDK
Tomcat

Attached is the environmental variables I had setup. I usually start
Apache & then Tomcat.
I then see the website that I'm supposed to see when I go to
http://localhost. The book instructed me to write a "hello world", save it
as index.jsp on the tomcat folder
under webapps/begjsp-ch01. However, when I try to run & go to
http://localhost/webapps/begjsp-ch01/index.jsp i get a 404 not found
message. What am i doing wrong. Please advise.
