Hi Troy!

I myself have chosen to display error messages without using the
error-tag provided by struts. I set a request attribute with the
errormessage:

...
catch (SQLException E) {
        request.setAttribute("sql-error", E.toString());
        }
...

To display this within my jsp i use:
...
<%=request.getAttribute("sql-error");%>
...

I'm sure there exists a better one, but that's a quick solution for
examining code errors.
