We're off topic, but I had to ask. Isn't UTF8 Unicode, just in 8 bit representation?

I have a properties file that use the PropertyResourceBundle to retrieve the value. The question is when I try to retrieve a UTF-8 value, it returns null. Do anyone know how to resolve this?
